Associated Press internship programme is for students aspiring to be cross-format journalists
NEW DELHI: The Associated Press, an American non-profit news agency has opened its 2022 news internship programme for recent graduates around the world who aspire to become cross-format journalists. This paid internship opportunity is available in New Delhi, New York, Phoenix, Arizona, Washington, D.C., Paris, Jerusalem, London and Nairobi. The last date to apply for the internship is February 28, 2022.
The internship duration is six months. During the internship, interns will be assigned with a mentor who will train and guide the intern. The internship opportunity available in New Delhi is for cross-format newsgathering, where the intern will have to report on general breaking news and work in both text and video formats.

Associated Press Internship: Eligibility criteria
Applicants must meet any of the following criteria:

Candidates should be full-time students who will graduate by summer 2022 or summer 2023

Students should have graduated in or after 2021

According to the Associated Press, first-year students and second-year students are not eligible to apply for this internship. Candidates are also required to write and speak well in the English language. The organisation considers professional competency and knowledge of an additional language as a plus.
“An internship at AP is a full-time, paid, working experience, with successful applicants offered the challenge of joining news gathering and news production colleagues to create and craft our daily all-formats news report,” says the Associated Press on its website.
