School Reopen in Bangalore: Schools to reopen; night curfew to be lifted from January 31
NEW DELHI: Karnataka minister of primary and secondary education BC Nagesh has said that schools in Bengaluru will reopen from January 31. The government have also decided to lift the night curfew imposed in the city from January 31 onwards, reported ANI .
Nagesh further said that the government have directed various departments to ensure that standard operating procedures are followed while lifting the curbs. The government has also allowed marriage functions to be conducted with a limit of up to 200 individuals participating in indoor events and 300 outdoors.

Bangalore schools and colleges were previously shut on January 4, except for classes 10 and 12 owing to the increasing COVID-19 cases in the city.
In other news, the Maharashtra government has decided to open schools in Pune. Maharashtra deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar announced that the schools will open from February 1. Schools will also reopen in Rajasthan from February 1 for classes 10 to 12, and from February 10 for classes 6 to 9.
The central government is also likely to issue an advisory to reopen schools across India since Covid-19 vaccination for the 15-18 age group is going on. Recently, Mansukh Mandviya, the union health minister said that 95 percent of India’s eligible adult population has got the first dose of Covid vaccine, and 74 percent go both doses.
