Bihar board first to get ISO certificates for ‘excellent’ reforms, quick results

The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has become the first board in the country to earn ISO certificates for the smooth and timely declaration of Class 10 and 12 results over the past seven years, as well as for its improved methods and processes introduced through various reforms.

The Bihar board has received the International Standardisation Organisation (ISO) certificates for its quality management systems, information security management system, and record management system.

“The committee has also received these ISO Certificates for making the system and process of granting recognition to Matriculation and Intermediate level schools reliable and excellent along with Matriculation, Intermediate and various examinations under the Bihar School Examination Board Act,” according to an official statement by the board.

Bihar board builds data centre with 200 TB capacity

The ISO certificates were received by Anand Kishore, chairman of BSEB. Earlier, the board has also received the Prime Minister's Award for excellence in public administration for the reforms and innovations done by the committee in the examination system, the press release states.

In the last few years, the board has transformed the entire examination process into a transparent and student-friendly system by use of IT, software and technology in all the board’s functions, it added.

The ISO certificate on record management, information security and quality to Bihar board has been granted for its work on digitizing the Class 10 and 12 record from the year 1983 to 2025.

It has also taken a step towards nature by making the committee records paperless, enabling the implementation of record management and information security as transparent and accountable.

Additionally, an advanced data centre with a capacity of 200 TB has been established to provide security and efficient maintenance of all student records, as well as hosting various computerized applications.

The government has implemented online enrollment for intermediate classes through the Online Facilitation System for Students (OFSS).
