Bihar Local Body Teachers’ Competency Exam 2024 registration starts on February 1 at bpsc.bih.nic.in

NEW DELHI: The Bihar Public Service Commission will start the registration process for the Bihar Local Body Teachers’ Competency Exam 2024 on the official website, bpsc.bih.nic.in, from February 1. Teachers employed by various local bodies of the state will be able to fill the application fee till February 15.

The Bihar Local Body Teachers’ Competency Exam 2024 is being held under the Rule 4 of Bihar School Special Teacher Rules, 2023. As per the rule, the teachers appointed by various local bodies of the state have to clear the competency test. Those who will clear the exam will be called ‘special teachers’. After passing the competency test, they will have a single cadre at the district-level from the date of joining the allotted school.

Eligibility criteria

Teachers should be employed as primary, middle, secondary or higher secondary teachers by local bodies and working teachers, including physical teachers and librarians are eligible for the exam. The candidates will have to pay an examination fee of Rs 1,100.

The Bihar Local Body Teachers’ Competency Exam 2024 will be a computer-based test (CBT) that the candidates have to attempt in 2 hours 30 minutes. Candidates of unreserved categories will have to get 40% marks to clear the exam. Those from BC and EBC categories will have to get 36.5% and 34% marks respectively while female candidates and applicants from SC, ST and PwD categories will have get 32% marks to clear the exam.

Important guidelines

As the notification, candidates will have to fill options of three districts for school allotment. Following the submission of the application form, the District Program Officer (Establishment) of the concerned district will review the form.

The Bihar Local Body Teachers’ Competency Exam 2024 is likely to be held in the last week of February, 2024, for which the admit card will be issued in the third week of February. The commission has advised to keep the admit card safely as they will have to appear in the exam again if they lose the document.
