Bihar TET Postponed 2024: The Bihar TET revised exam dates will be announced later on the official website, secondary.biharboardonline.com.
NEW DELHI: Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) on Saturday has postponed the Bihar Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) 2024 citing unavoidable circumstances. The Bihar TET 2024 was originally scheduled to be held from June 26 to June 28, at various exam centres across the state.
The Bihar TET revised exam dates will be announced later on the official website, secondary.biharboardonline.com. The board said that the decision to postpone the TET was taken as two exams were clashing on the same date. The Bihar Public Service Commission has also scheduled exams for the recruitment of headmasters on June 28 and 29, 2024.
“Hereby, in the order of Release No. PR 238/2024, in the context of Rule 4 of Bihar School Special Teacher Rules, 2023, teacher candidates appearing in the Competency Test of Local Body Teachers, 2024 (Second), all District Education Officers, All District Program Officers (Establishment) and all concerned are informed that the Competency Test, 2024 (Second) to be held in both the shifts from 26.06.2024 to 28.06.2024 is postponed due to unavoidable reasons. 2. The date of conduct of the said examination will be published later,” BPSC said on 'X'.
Employed teachers gain the status of state employees only after passing this test, which is required for teaching candidates at primary, secondary, and higher secondary schools in Bihar.
Postponement after backdrop of paper leaks
The postponement follows recent incidents of exam paper leaks, notably affecting the UGCNET and NEET UG exams 2024. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced the UGC NET was cancellation due to its question paper being leaked on the darknet, a concealed part of the internet where users remain mostly anonymous and transactions often occur via cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin.
