NEW DELHI: Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH) has signed an agreement with Earth Nature Climate Initiative (ENCI), a Canadian organization specializing in sustainability education and training. As per the official statement, BIMTECH and ENCI has collaborated to advance education and training initiatives focused on sustainability.

Prabina Rajib, director, BIMTECH, said, "In recent years, BIMTECH has been making substantial strides in incorporating sustainable practices in thought, word and actions. This MOU represents a formalization of our dedication to these practices, reinforcing our shared goals and collaborative efforts in pursuing a more sustainable future. It is a testament to our collective wish to educate people and spread awareness on reducing environmental footprint and promote sustainable development. By aligning with ENCI, we are amplifying our impact and leveraging our resources more effectively. Our commitment to sustainability extends beyond activities, it is embedded in the Institute's Vision, Mission and Values."

Sustainability-focused programmes

According to the official press release, BIMTECH, with more than three decades of excellence in business education, will leverage this partnership to create and offer innovative programs that cater to the growing need for sustainable practices across industries. ENCI Canada, recognized for its expertise in sustainability training and knowledge development, will contribute specialized insights to the collaboration, complemented by BIMTECH's strong academic resources, research capabilities, and industry-focused programs.

Management development programmes

According to BIMTECH's official press release, the partnership aims to create innovative management development programs designed to upskill professionals and enhance the future of corporate leadership and business practices. These programs will be offered as 3-day and 5-day MDPs, with the course content currently being developed.

Diverse learning opportunities for professional growth

As stated in the official press release, the partnership will also offer diverse learning opportunities to support professional growth. The management development program will feature specialized sessions, contextual case studies, and in-depth knowledge of various sustainability aspects, addressing the learning needs of industry professionals.

Panos Alivizatos, chief executive director and board member, ENCI, commented, “It is a pleasure to work towards a common target. Our vision is to help around in sustainability value chains and also accomplish necessary targets. The programs co-developed by the two institutions will start with foundational programs and gradually focus on different sectors like tourism, energy etc. Our programs will be hybrid with 80% online attendance and 20% at campus attendance, making the initiative accessible to all. We will eventually go up to board level in the organizations to help them understand the relation between sustainability and strategy.”
