NEW DELHI, DECEMBER 16: Bihar Public Service Commission has conducted BPSC Civil Services preliminary exam on December 16. The exam was held at 808 exam centres across 35 districts of Bihar. BPSC Civil Services preliminary exam was held from 12 to 2 pm.
The preliminary exam carried 150 questions from General Studies which candidates had to answer within 2 hours.The questions were asked from topics like General Science, Current Affairs on International and National Events, History of India with emphasis on Bihar’s History, Geography, Indian Polity and Economics, Independence Movement etc.
As per the exam analysis, the questions were moderate to easy in terms of difficulty level. BPSC Civil Services result 2018 of the preliminary exam is likely to be announced in February 2019. As per the official notice, the qualifying cutoff of preliminary examination is 40% for general category while that for OBC is 36.5%. The qualifying cutoff for SC/ ST/ Women/ PwD candidates is 32%. Candidates who will secure equal to or more than the cutoff prescribed by BPSC will be eligible to appear for the mains exam.
BPSC Civil Services exam is being conducted for the recruitment of administrative posts like Revenue Officer, Supply Inspector, Block Welfare Officer, Rural Development Officer etc. As many as 1465 vacancies will be filled through this examination.
