BPSC declares 68th Bihar Joint Competitive Examination result on bpsc.bih.nic.in

The BPSC had held the 68th Bihar Joint Competitive Examination for the posts of DSP, probation officer, Bihar education officer and other posts.
NEW DELHI: The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has declared the 68th Bihar Joint Competitive Examination result on the official website, bpsc.bih.nic.in. A total of 322 candidates have been selected against 324 vacancies. The commission had called 867 candidates for the interview process from January 8 to 15.
The exam was held for post of Bihar Police Service (DPS), jail superintendent, state tax assistant commissioner, sub election officer, sub-registrar, labour superintendent, employment officer, probation officer, assistant registrar (cooperative societies), assistant director (PWD directorate), additional sugarcane officer, Bihar education officer, labour enforcement officer, district transport officer, rural development officer, and other posts. It added that 817 candidates appeared in the interview and 50 candidates were absent.
“The results of preliminary and main (written) examinations of five candidates – roll no 277457, 365502, 428421, 457152 and 505025 – who appeared in the interview have been cancelled,” the BPSC said. The commission has also prepared a combined merit list for the remaining 812 candidates who appeared in the interview based on the sum of marks obtained in the main examination and the marks obtained in the interview.
Tie breaker criteria
In case the total marks of two or more candidates in the combined merit list are equal, the candidate with more marks in the main exam has been selected. If the tie still persisted, then the candidate with more marks in the essay subject was selected. If the tie was not broken even after these steps, then the older candidate as per the date of birth was given the seat. The last step to break the tie breaker was using the alphabetical order of the name in Devanagari script.

“According to the joint sequential merit list prepared accordingly, giving preference to the order of preference indicated by them for the state cadre/services, according to their suitability for the selected service and the availability of reservation roster wise vacant posts, 322 vacancies have been selected against the total 324,” the commission added. Two posts have been left vacant as candidates for deaf-mute quota were unable.
