Careers360 Faculty Research Awards 2023 for arts, humanities conferred upon BHU, IIT Patna professors

BHU history professor received outstanding faculty awards while IIT Patna English researcher got commendable faculty award.
NEW DELHI : Professors from Banaras Hindu University (BHU) and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Patna have been awarded the Careers360 Faculty Research Awards 2023 for the arts and humanities domain. Careers360 is hosting the second edition of the awards today, October 6. Researchers across 27 disciplines are being awarded for their contributions during the event.
Ravindra Nath Singh from BHU and Priyanka Tripathi from IIT Patna have received the award in two different categories. The Outstanding Faculty Award for public universities has been given to Singh. Tripathi received the Commendable Faculty Award. Minister of state for communication Devusinh Jesingbhai Chauhan was the chief guest on the occasion.

Singh has an h-index of 10 and 328 citations. He serves as a professor in the department of ancient Indian history, culture (AIHC) and archaeology at BHU. His specializations include field archaeology and archaeological sciences, particularly in metals and glass. The professor has published 100 research papers. He received his PhD degree from BHU in 1984. He has been a Smuts Visiting Research Fellow at Cambridge University from 2009 to 2010, Royal Society-Lon don Fellow (INSA), department of archaeology, Cambridge University from 2001 to 2002), and a Nehru Trust Fellow, Institute of Archaeology, University of London from 1994 to 1995.
Moreover, Tripathi having 2 h-index and 23 citations is an associate professor of English in the department of humanities and social sciences at IIT Patna. Her research interests include gender studies, graphic novels, South Asian fiction, postcolonial literature, literary cartography and spatiality studies. Additionally, she is the co-executive editor of the Journal of International Women’s Studies published by Bridgewater State University.

The English professor completed her PhD at IIT Kharagpur. She has also worked on various projects sponsored by Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), TEQIP and more.
Minister of State (MoS) for skill development, entrepreneurship and communication and information technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar presented the awards to the researchers. Each award carries cash prizes and citations.
