New Delhi, August 8: IIM Calcutta has released the online application form of Common Admission Test (CAT) on Wednesday, August 8, 2018. Candidates can fill the application form until September 19 (5 PM). Before applying, candidates need to register for the exam to receive their credentials, and then login again to fill the application form. The application incorporates a three-step process – CAT registration, filling & submitting the application form and paying the application fee.

The application form is categorised into the following six sections:

  • Personal Details

  • Academics

  • Work Experience

  • Programmes

  • Test City

  • Payment

Prior to filling the application form, candidates must check the eligibility criteria prescribed by the conducting body. Applicants should be graduates in any discipline from a recognised institute with at least 50 per cent aggregate marks for General category candidates and 45 per cent for the reserved category candidates.

Prospective test takers should ensure to obtain a valid email address and mobile number. They also need to scan images of passport size photo and signature; then upload in the designated space. The photo having a white background should not be more than six months old. Candidates are required to produce printed copies of the same photographs on the examination day (November 25, 2018).

CAT 2018 Application Fee

This year, the CAT application fee structure has been revised by IIM Calcutta. The new application fee can be paid via Net Banking, Credit Card (Visa/Master), Debit Card (Visa/Master), Credit Card (American Express), PayTM and PayU (mobile wallets).

The Common Admission Test (CAT) is the most coveted management entrance exam of India taken by around 2 lakh candidates every year. Around 4,000 seats are offered through the 20 IIMs. Apart from IIMs, over 100 B-schools accept CAT scores. CAT 2018 will be conducted in 147 cities this year (two new states added - Mizoram and Nagaland). The mode of the test will be computer-based with 100 MCQ and Non-MCQ questions divided into three timed sections (VARC, DI & LR and QA). The total duration will be 180 minutes.
