CAT 2021: IIM Ahmedabad professor appointed as CAT convenor

Use NowNEW DELHI : MP Ram Mohan, an Assistant Professor in Business Policy and Chairperson Admissions at Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad has been appointed as convenor of CAT 2021, according to a report by the Times of India. TCS will continue to be the testing partner agency for conducting CAT this year as well. Careers360 confirmed the appointment of Professor Mohan as CAT convenor from IIM Ahmedabad.
Mohan is a native of Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. He is a law and strategy expert and has various professional affiliations. He has done his Doctorate from IIT Kharagpur after completing his MPhil from NUJS, Kolkata and LLM from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth. Apart from that, he was a practising advocate at Trivandrum District Court, Kerala, the TOI report added.
The report further stated Mohan has a keen interest in writing and has a flair for research. His publications, case studies and reviews are widely read, referred to and usually quoted. His research interests have been in the areas of Commercial and Business Law, Strategy and Organizations, Studies on Judiciary, Law, Business and Professional negligence, Restatement of Indian Contract Law, Energy and Infrastructure Law.
Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad, the top management institute of India which was ranked #1 in the NIRF 2020 ranking is going to conduct CAT 2021.The official notification for the conduct of Common Admission Test (CAT) 2021 is likely to be released in July.
About CAT exam
CAT is conducted by IIMs on a rotational basis and is a popular MBA entrance test for admission to postgraduate management programmes offered by IIMs and other B-schools in the country. Last year, 2.27 lakh students registered for this entrance exam and this number is expected to go up this year.
