NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad is likely to release the CAT notification 2021 soon. Last year in 2020, the Indian Institute of Management, Indore released the official CAT notification on July 29. Eligibility criteria, selection process, start and end date of CAT registration, paper pattern, etc. will be briefly mentioned in the official CAT 2021 notification.
Other important details that will be mentioned in the CAT exam notification include the total number of cities where the examination will be held and the CAT 2021 registration fee for candidates belonging to different categories. The CAT notification will also mention the URL of the CAT official website.

Changes introduced in CAT exam last year

CAT application fee was increased to Rs 2,000 from Rs 1,900 for the general category and from Rs 950 to Rs 1,000 for SC/ ST category.

The duration of the CAT exam was reduced from 180 minutes to 120 minutes, and so candidates were given a section-time limit of 40 minutes.

The number of test slots increased by three compared to previous years when CAT was conducted in two slots.
CAT eligibility criteria 2021
IIM Ahmedabad will lay down the CAT 2021 eligibility criteria, which students will have to meet to be eligible for the exam. No changes have been made to the eligibility criteria of CAT over the years and it is expected to remain the same this year as well.

Students who have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% of aggregated marks (45% for SC/ ST/ PwD) are eligible to apply for CAT 2021.

There is no age restriction to apply.

Work experience is not mandatory.
CAT 2021 exam pattern
The authority has not yet released any details regarding the CAT 2021 exam pattern . However, considering that IIM Ahmedabad is convening the CAT this year, it is expected that some changes will be made in the CAT exam pattern.

The Common Admission Test (CAT) is a computer-based test conducted annually by one of the Indian Institutes of Management (IIM) for admission to two-year business administration programmes (PGDM/ MBA) at 20 IIMs. Other top MBA colleges in India also take CAT score into consideration for granting admission to various postgraduate programmes offered by them.
