IIM Bangalore conducted the first online CAT exam in 2016 and later in 2022. The MBA institute is conducting CAT 2022 after a gap of five years. More than 2 lakh MBA aspirants apply for CAT every year for MBA/ PGDM admission in elite B-schools across India such as GIM Goa, Great Lakes, MDI Gurgaon, FORE Delhi, FMS Delhi, DoMS IIT Delhi, IIT Mumbai, SPJIMR, etc.
This CAT score is accepted not only by IIMs but also by 500+ B-schools across the country. Ideally, you should give one full-length mock per week from September. Only giving the CAT mock tests will not help, one should analyze it thoroughly before attempting the next mock. Remember, analyzing CAT 2022 mocks take time and one should plan properly for analysis of the mocks. In between the two main mocks, one should regularly attempt topic-wise CAT mocks 2022 to keep his/ her concepts updated.
CAT exam has a sectional time-limit of 40 minutes each. This means that candidates will have to solve the paper in a pre-defined manner. They will not be allowed to choose any section to start with or switch from one section to another. They will have to follow the CAT question paper 2022 chronologically, from sections one to three. The chronology of the sections will be:

In order to pursue MBA/ PGDM at IIMs, candidates will have to appear for Common Admission Test (CAT). Just appearing in the CAT exam does not confirm your seat in an IIM. After clearing CAT 2022 entrance test, shortlisted candidates will have to appear for the further selection rounds which include Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD), and Personal Interview (PI).

CAT is considered as a dream exam for management aspirants. More than 2 lakh candidates appear for the exam every year. In 2021, more than 2,30,000 candidates have appeared for approximately 4,300 seats in 19 IIMs (Source: Hindustan times). The ratio stands at 1:53, which is needless to mention makes CAT one of the toughest exams to crack.
The process of filling CAT 2022 application form will start likely from August 03. The first step is CAT exam registration followed by filling the application form and paying the requisite fee. All of this can be done at the CAT official website, iimcat.ac.in. If you miss any step, your CAT application will remain incomplete and if you fill in any incorrect information in the application form, you will not get admission in any IIM even after scoring high in CAT 2022 exam. The CAT conducting body does not have a defined syllabus for CAT 2022 preparation. During preparation days candidates can take CAT 2022 mock test to understand the exam structure and pattern as well as the type of questions. Candidates need to check the CAT website regularly for the announcement of the CAT mock test.
The exam shift (forenoon, afternoon, and evening) will be allocated for each registered candidate based on the city preference made at the time of registration. Candidates cannot select the shift.
No candidates can not appear for the CAT entrance test in more than one slot. If any candidate do so, then it will be considered fraudulent activity. To ensure that one has only one attempt, photo IDs, admit card, candidates' pictures and biometric information will be verified.

CAT application fee increased: IIM Ahmedabad has notified that the CAT application fee has been increased. CAT application fee for General/ OBC category has been increased Rs 2,000 to Rs 2,200 and for SC/ ST/ PwD category has been increased from Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,100.

The number of questions has been trimmed down since last year. And this has led to the spike in the difficulty level, which eventually resulted in cutoff getting down. Candidates scoring above 95 percentile may get a call from most of IIMs for further rounds - AWT and PI. To get a call from top IIMs such as IIM, Ahmedabad, IIM, Bangalore, students must score above 99%ile. Expected cutoff by coaching institutes will be released soon after the exam.
