NEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow has concluded the CAT 2023 exam. CAT 2023 slot 3 concluded at 6.30 pm yesterday. More than 3 lakh students appeared for CAT MBA entrance exam at 400 test centres across 155 cities in the country. CAT 2023 CAT slot 1 and slot 2 were like last year and the overall difficulty level was moderate to difficult. CAT 2023 question paper slot 1 and 2 reportedly had 66 questions (MCQs and non-MCQs) with 24 questions in Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC), 22 in Quantitative Aptitude (QA), and 20 in Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR). Candidates will have to get 27 marks in each section of CAT 2023 to secure more than 99 percentile. However, 27 marks in CAT 2023 is considered as a low score. Overall 27 marks in CAT 2023 is not expected to be more than 55 CAT percentile.
The Indian Institute of Management (IIM Bangalore) has changed the admission policy. It will accord now 35% the weightage to personal interview. Earlier. it was to 40%. institute has reduced the weightage to marks obtained in Classes 10 and 12 from 15% to 10 % each in the shortlisting phase.

Indian Institute of Management (IIM Lucknow) has not announced the CAT response sheet release date yet. According to the last year's data, the response sheet will be released along with the provisional CAT answer key 2023.
A total of 3.3 lakh candidates from across the country had registered for the CAT 2023. This was 30% more than the last year's 2.5 lakh registrations.
Students from general category will have to get 99 to 100 percentile in CAT 2023. The cut off for CAT 2023 for reserved category will likely be 97 to 98 percentile. Each IIM will release the CAT 20023 cut off on the basis of various factors such as the difficulty level of the CAT exam 2023, the number of students who appeared in IIM CAT, the number of seats available, etc.

MBA aspirants use the CAT 2023 percentile predictor to predict their percentile based on their probable score in the CAT exam.
XAT 2024 exam is of total 101 marks. The question paper comprises 5 sections – decision making, general knowledge, verbal and logical reasoning, quantitative ability and data interpretation, and analytical essay writing. Each correct answer carries 1 mark and for every incorrect answer 0.25 mark is deducted.

As per CAT 2023 aspirants, the difficulty level in all the overall difficulty levels of CAT exam slots was moderate. According to the students, CAT slot 1 was slightly easier than the other slots.
Follow the steps given below for CAT score calculator.
Step 1: Know the total number of candidates (N) who appeared for the CAT 2023
Step 2: Provide ranks (r) to all CAT exam 2023 candidates based on their scaled scores in the QA section. If multiple candidates achieve the same scaled scores in QA, assign them identical ranks
Step 3: Calculate the percentile score (P) of a candidate with rank (r) in the QA section as P = [(N − r)/N] x 100
Step 4: Round off the calculated percentile score (P) of a candidate up to two decimal points
According to CAT Slot 3 candidates, the paper is moderate to tough. CAT 2023 slot 3 examiner Anurag says the CAT slot 3 paper is not very easy. The DILR and QA section was a bit tough, unlike last year's CAT exam. He also said that some changes have been made this year. At VARC, an odd question has been asked that was not asked last year. There is no Para Comprehension and DI set this year. For me, RC took a lot of time to complete.
9 to 10 are good attempts in the CAT slot 3 quant section. CAT slot 3 quant section was quite lengthy and a maximum number of questions were asked from Algebra. Also, questions were asked from Arithmetic but as compared to other slot numbers of arithmetic question was low. 2 questions were asked from Geometry and 1-2 questions from Number system. The overall difficult of CAT slot 3 was moderate to difficult.
In CAT slot 3 DILR section has one set for DI. The overall difficulty level of CAT slot 3 LRDI section was moderate to difficult. Attempting 6 to 7 questions from CAT slot 3 LRDI section considered a good attempt.
CAT slot 3 VARC pattern was same as other two slots. There were 4 RC passages in CAT slot 3 VARC section. In CAT slot 3 VA questions were asked from Parajumble, Summary, and Para completion. The CAT slot 3 VARC section was doable.
CAT 2023 Slot 3 analysis indicates that the paper was moderate compared to CAT slot 1 and slot 2.

There is no official CAT answer key release date released by IIM Lucknow. According to last year's release date, the CAT 2023 answer key for all slots is expected to be available from the first week of December 2023.
CAT slot 3 was bit a similar to slot 1 and slot 2 in terms of difficulty level. VARC and DILR sections were moderate and the QA section was tough.

The CAT exam slot 3 has now started. This is the evening session of the CAT exam will be held from from 04.30 pm to 06.30 pm. It is also the last slot of CAT exam 2023. Candidates aiming for admission to top B schools must maintain an accuracy of 90% while attempting the CAT 2023 exam. CAT slot 3 will take place from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm. Students have started arriving to the CAT exam centre.
A total of 20 questions were asked in CAT slot 2 quant section. The overall difficulty level of CAT slot 2 quant was moderate and 14 to 15 questions was doable. There was one question from Sequence and Series which was difficult. As compared to CAT slot 1, this slot have more arithmetic questions.
As per CAT slot 2 sectional analysis, the LRDI section was doable. The first set of LRDI questions were asked from Median and Boxes. Candidates found the CAT slot 2 LRDI section lengthy. No questions were asked from Venn Diagram, Linear Equation, Games and Tournaments.

While the CAT exam is the first instrument for selection of candidates for the IIMs, it is not the only one by far. In IIM Calcutta's admission policy for 2024, the IIM CAT 2023 accounts for only 30% weightage.

A high CAT percentile is essential for admission in the top b-schools, including the IIMs. A total score of 30 will translate into a CAT percentile below 80.

As per CAT slot 1 exam analysis the overall difficulty level of CAT slot 1 was moderate. The total number of questions and section-wise questions was the same as last year's.
Entry is still going on and the gates of CAT exam centres will close at 12:15 pm. After that, no one will be allowed to enter the test centre.
