The CAT exam 2023 is held every year for admission to MBA and PGDM programmes offered by 21 IIMs and over 1,200 B-schools across the country. As per the selection process, CAT score is just one component of the admission process. Some IIMs conduct a written ability test (WAT) and interview round for further selection and some also take into account the work experience of applicants for shortlisting.
This year, CAT recorded registration of 3.3 lakh , 30% increase compared to last year and highest in a decade. After the CAT results are declared, each participating institute will announce the CAT cut-offs for admission. The cut-offs are determined based on various factors such as number of candidates, difficulty level, previous year trends.

Ranks are assigned to candidates based on the scaled scores obtained by candidates in a section.
