NEW DELHI: Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM Calcutta) will close the Common Admission Test (CAT 2024) registration process tomorrow. The CAT exam 2024 will be held on November 24 in three sessions to determine the eligibility for admission to various management programmes offered by IIMs. Along with the CAT exam date 2024, the IIM has also uploaded the complete schedule on the official website, iimcat.ac.in.

Candidates who wish to pursue postgraduate and doctorate programmes at IIMs will have to complete the CAT application form by 5 pm on September 20. The entrance exam is scheduled to be conducted in around 170 cities. Candidates will be given the option to choose from five preferred cities, the institute said.
“After the closure of the registration window, a very short edit window will be made available to the registered applicants,” it said. However, candidates will only be allowed to edit test city preferences and upload correct photograph and signature.
The CAT question paper will have three-sections - verbal ability and reading comprehension; data interpretation and logical reasoning; and quantitative ability - and will be conducted for a duration of 120 minutes. As per the exam pattern, candidates will be given exactly 40 minutes to attempt one section and they will not be allowed to switch from one section to another.

How to apply for CAT 2024
CAT application is categorized into the following six sections - personal details, academics, work experience, programmes, test city, and declaration. Applicants can follow the steps given below to fill the CAT application form 2024.
- Visit the CAT 2024 official website, iimcat.ac.in.
- Click on the ‘New Candidate Registration’ link available on the homepage.
- Enter basic details to generate user ID and password.
- Login again using the credentials generated.
- Proceed to fill personal and academic details.
- Select five preferred cities to appear for the exam.
- Upload documents in the specified format (details given below).
- Review the details filled and submit the form.
- Download it and save it for future reference.

Applicants will have to upload their Class 10 and 12 mark sheets,details of bachelor’s and master’s degree, and other professional degrees if any. The image size and file format details for photograph, signature, and other documents are given below.
