The institute increased the number of questions to 68 for the CAT 2024 exam this year. The three sections of the exam included verbal ability and reading comprehension (VARC), quantitative ability (QA), and data interpretation and logical reasoning (DILR). Despite the rise in the number of questions, the entrance exam was considered easy this year. The VARC section consisted of 24 questions, while the other two sections had 22 questions each.

• Candidates are required to have completed their graduation degree with a minimum of 50% marks in total aggregate or its equivalent CGPA (5% relaxation for candidates belonging to reserved category).
• Candidates are required to have done their graduation from any university. If no CGPA-to-marks conversion scheme is shared by the college, IIM Mumbai will calculate equivalence by dividing the CGPA by the maximum CGPA and multiplying by 100.

To access the CAT 2024 scorecard, candidates will need to log in using their user or application ID and password on the official website — iimcat.ac.in.

There is no restriction on the number of attempts for the CAT exam. The exam is conducted annually for admission to management programmes at the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and other participating B-schools.

Candidates can refer to the CAT 2024 marking scheme as follows: each correct answer will be awarded 3 marks. A penalty of -1 will be applied for every incorrect answer. However, there will be no negative marking for unanswered questions or for non-MCQ (multiple-choice question) items.

IIM CAT 2024 was conducted at 389 centres across 170 cities in India.

The CAT scorecard 2024 will include important details such as the registration number or user ID, the candidate's name, category, and gender, along with their date of birth. It will also mention the exam date and time, contact details (email and phone number), the overall scaled score, section-wise scores, and the percentile scores both overall and for each section. Additionally, the scorecard will specify the validity of the CAT score.

The CAT scorecard 2024 will include essential information such as:

The response sheet was released along with the CAT 2024 answer key on December 3, and the CAT 2024 scorecard is expected to be available soon.

The Common Admission Test (CAT) 2024 saw an attendance of approximately 89% this year. Around 2.93 lakh candidates appeared for the test out of 3.29 lakh registered eligible candidates.

As per IIM Calcutta's official notification, CAT result 2024 is expected to be declared in the second week of January.
