CBI to offer internship for NFSU students, says report

The students of National Forensic Science University will help the CBI during investigations into criminal, white-collar and other serious cases.
NEW DELHI: The CBI has submitted a proposal to induct students of National Forensic Science University (NFSU) in Gandhinagar for an internship with the Central Bureau of Investigation. They will help the CBI during investigations into criminal, white-collar and other serious cases. Students will be eligible for stipends during the internship. The internship duration will be from six months to one year, reported the Ahmedabad Mirror.

CBI intend to provide internship to 50 students of the NFSU Gandhinagar for a period of six months to one year. The internship is expected to start in January 2022.
“Students will benefit a lot from the internship as they will be part of the CBI investigation process. They will be sent to Delhi, Mumbai and other places where lodging facilities will be arranged by the CBI.” an official of the Directorate of Forensic Science (DFS) told the Ahmedabad Mirror.
Technology has made committing serious crimes easier by misusing loopholes in the law. Hence, law enforcement agencies rely on scientific and forensic aspects of the investigation for conclusive evidence. CBI, the apex investigating agency of India, always require skilled crime-scene investigators and forensic experts. “If the CBI gives internships to NFSU students, then it will definitely benefit students as well as the CBI,” Keshav Kumar, retired IPS officer was reported saying.

The CBI will provide internships to students of chemistry, physics, forensics, forensic accounting and toxicology courses. Emphasis will be given to digital forensics, forensic psychology, forensic biology, forensic toxicology and cyber forensics.
