As per the CBSE Class 12 results for 2025, the overall pass percentage stood at 88.39%, marking an increase of 0.41 percentage points compared to last year. In the region-wise results, Trivandrum, which held the top position last year with 99.91%, slipped to second place this year with 99.32%. Vijayawada region rose from second to first by securing a pass percentage of 99.60%.
Students from Telangana performed the best among the 17 regions, recording an overall pass percentage of 99.73%, followed closely by Andhra Pradesh at 99.51%. Notably, the Vijayawada region covers CBSE schools in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Meanwhile, the performance of students in Chennai and Bengaluru declined by more than one percentage point. Of the 17 regions, 10 showed improvement, while seven witnessed a drop in pass percentage. Pune, Noida, Panchkula, and Ajmer regions have also shown some improvement this year.

To avoid unhealthy competition amongst the students, the board decided to not publish the merit list. It also does not award first, second, or third division. “However, the Board will issue the merit certificate to the top 0.1% of students who have scored the highest marks in the subjects. The Merit certificate will be made available in the Digi-Locker of the student concerned,” it said.
