CBSE alerts parents, students against fake news, rumours ahead of board exams 2024

NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has alerted students and parents against rumours, fake information, and unverified news regarding board exams 2024. CBSE Class 10, 12 board exams 2024 will begin from February 15.

CBSE said that it has observed unethical elements trying to spread rumours about paper leak on social media including Facebook, YouTube, X, and others; circulating fake links of sample papers claiming that CBSE board exam 2024 will have questions from them, circulating fake pictures or videos of question papers with claims to provide them against money during the exam time.

“These persons, group and agencies intend to fleece the gullible students and parents as they demand money in return. Such irresponsible activities also create confusion and panic among the students and public,” the board stated.

CBSE affirmed that it is active in identifying and initiating action against those spreading fake news. It is closely monitoring the situation with the help of law enforcement agencies to take action.

Warning students at the same time, the board said, “CBSE will take action against a student under unfair means rules and various sections of IPC if found indulging in speaking fake news. Parents are also requested to guide their wards not to believe in such rumours and not indulge in any such activity which hampers the smooth conduct of forthcoming board examinations.”
