NEW DELHI, June 4 : The CBSE has announced the NEET 2018 Results at 12.15 PM today for around 13 lakh candidates who took the all India level exam on May 6. The results have been announced a day in advance to the CBSE’s earlier result schedule of June 5.

A total of 7,14,562 candidates have qualified for the next stage of admission process where counselling will be held for allocation of seats for both 15 % All India Quota and state level counselling.

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test is a single-window entrance examination for admission to approximately 90,000 undergraduate medical and dental seats across the country except for those offered by AIIMS and JIPMER. Starting this year, CBSE has mandated that the admission to AYUSH courses will also be on the basis of NEET. As per the data shared by CBSE, a total of 13.26 lakh candidates had registered for NEET 2018. Out of these, 12,69,922 candidates appeared for the exam.

The CBSE had earlier released the NEET 2018 official answer key, OMR response sheets, and test booklets on May 25, 2018.

Lower cut-off owing to higher difficulty level of exam

The cut-off percentile for the Result for Unreserved category is 119 marks out of the total 720 marks. The cutoff for other categories - OBC, ST and SC is 96 marks. Cutoff for Unreserved Persons with Disability is 107. As expected by experts, the cut-off this year has come down owing to the higher difficulty level of the exam.

Last year, the cut-off for general category candidate was 131 marks. The cutoff was 107 for the OBC/SC/ST, and 118 for the Unreserved Persons with Disability.
