CBSE admits Class 12 answer sheet error; assures revised result for affected students

In response to a complaint raised by Class 12 students regarding a mismatch in the 12th answer sheet under their roll number, CBSE has responded to students, saying that the correct copy of answer script will be sent to their registered email address. The board has also assured revision in CBSE Class 12 results for the affected students.

Many Class 12 students applied for a photocopy of their CBSE 12th answer sheet after getting low marks. The students claimed that the handwriting and answers in the uploaded answer copy were entirely different from their own, raising doubts about whether their actual answer sheet had ever been evaluated.

A Class 12 student, Vedant, posted on social media, flagging that the handwriting in the physics copy uploaded under his name did not match his own. Several other students also raised their concerns regarding the mismatched answer sheets.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has responded to the student's concern on X (formerly Twitter) and said:

“Upon review, the matter has been examined, and the correct copy of your answer book has been sent to your registered email address. Necessary action for updating your result, as applicable, is also being undertaken accordingly.”

CBSE revaluation portal faces technical issues

CBSE recently drew criticism after its revaluation portal became inaccessible, with several students reporting inability to access scanned copies of their Class 12 answer sheets, submit verification requests, or file re-evaluation applications, despite repeated attempts over several hours.

Following the concerns raised by students and parents, Union education minister Dharmenda Pradhan announced that an expert team from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras and Kanpur will be assigned to provide technical assistance to the CBSE board.

The new expert team will work with CBSE to improve the portal’s technical systems, ensuring a smoother experience for students applying for re-evaluation and other related services.

Students can now obtain the scanned document for a fee of Rs 100, significantly lower than the earlier charge of Rs 700, making the service more affordable. CBSE has also extended the last date to obtain the CBSE Class 12 answer scripts till May 25.
