NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) had released the new CBSE syllabus for Classes 9 to 12 for the CBSE academic session 2021-22. The board also announced a new exam pattern and reduced the syllabus for Class 10 and Class 12.

The CBSE had also said that the reduction in the Class 12 syllabus will be similar to that of the previous year’s deleted syllabus of Class 12 syllabus 2020-21. The board reduced the syllabus by 30% due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation.

The CBSE has divided the academic year of Class 12 into two terms. At the end of each term, the board will conduct exams for the students. Students can check the term-wise CBSE Physics syllabus 2021-22 in the table below.
Term 1 exam will be of 90 minutes and will have multiple-choice questions (MCQ) including case-based MCQs and MCQs on the assertion-reasoning type. While term 2 exams will be of 2 hours and will have questions of different formats (case-based/ situation based, open-ended- short answer/ long answer type).

“First term practical examination will be organised by schools as per the directions of CBSE. The record to be submitted by the students at the time of first term examination has to include a record of at least 4 Experiments and 3 Activities to be demonstrated by teacher,” the board said.

The second term practical examination will be organised by schools as per the directions of CBSE and viva will be taken by both internal and external observers. The record to be submitted by the students at the time of the second term examination has to include a record of at least 4 experiments and 3 activities to be demonstrated by teacher.
