The programmes target teachers of Classes 6 to 8 and Classes 9 to 10. They cover subjects including Hindi, English, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, and Painting. Training starts from October 2025.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has launched 14 new Capacity Building Programmes (CBPs) for teachers, aimed at continuous professional development (CPD). The programmes, designed in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, were released at the National Teachers Conference-2025 in Patna.
The programmes cover subject-specific areas including Hindi, Sanskrit, Painting, Social Science, Science, Mathematics, English, and Economics. They also include generic programmes such as Value Education through Sports and STEM Education. Each programme provides training manuals, session plans, and assessment strategies to help teachers implement competency-based teaching and learning in classrooms.
The CBPs on Competency-Based Assessment for Mathematics, Science, Social Science, Hindi, and English are tailored for both middle (Class 6 to 8) and secondary (Class 9, 10) stages. These programmes focus on designing MCQs and free-response questions, case-based assessments, and practical tools to foster conceptual clarity, critical thinking, and real-world application.
The Board has requested all affiliated schools to disseminate information about the programmes to teachers. The training will be conducted through the Prashikshan Triveni portal via CBSE Centres of Excellence and will commence from October 2025.
“All affiliated Schools are requested to disseminate the information about these new CBPs to their teachers. Board is initiating these programmes on Rashikshan Triveni through its Centre of Excellence from the month of October-2025 onwards,” the board said.
