CBSE partners with Canva to train educators in visual communication and gen AI tools

NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) collaborated with Canva to introduce visual communication to educators throughout CBSE-affiliated schools in India. The programme aims to enhance digital creativity skills amongst principals and teachers and benefits over 840,000 teachers and over 25 million students across CBSE schools in India.

The partnership will encompass a series of workshops aimed at showcasing the complete capabilities of Canva to educators. The institute said that these workshops will cover aspects such as facilitating classroom design thinking, improving lesson plans, refining educational materials, and promoting meaningful engagement in the classroom.

As per the official press release, the first stage of the training series will commence with approximately 30,000 teachers participating in orientation and workshops designed to familiarize them with innovative teaching methodologies. The educators can also join the ‘Canva for Teachers’ community to improve their digital storytelling capabilities continuously.

Canva for Education is a tool designed to enhance the learning experience for teachers, students and staff alike. With over 70,000 educational templates, the platform offers a wide range of features that make it easy for educators to create visually engaging content for their lessons, presentations, and school materials, the press release read.

Speaking about the collaboration, the skilling director of CBSE, Biswajit Saha, said: “We are truly excited about the association with Canva to equip teachers with newer tools to enhance the learning experience in the classroom. Providing such access to our educators will help them save time in design tasks and inspire our students towards a new era of creativity and design.”
