All candidates who have been allotted seats in round 1 have to report at the nearest reporting centre for document verification between May 21-24. Additionally, they have to opt for any of the three available options – float, slide, and freeze.

If a candidate opts for the freeze option, he/she will not be considered for up-gradation. On the other hand, slide option will enable the candidate to hold onto the offered seat while being open to a higher preference seat, but in the same institute. The third option, float should opted by the candidate if he/she is open to a higher preference in any institute.

In such cases, where a candidate is offered a higher preference seat in round 1 or 2, seat allotted to the candidate in the earlier round will be cancelled and will be available for allotment to some other candidate.

The counselling of CCMT is conducted in online mode. There are a total of three seat allotment rounds, with round 2 slated to take place on May 28. Round 2 will be conducted to fill vacant seats that are left after allotment in the previous round. It may be noted that for round 2, and also for round 3, no fresh choice filling will be allowed. The third and final round will be held on June 10.
