NEW DELHI, MAY 19: NIT Delhi, which is the admission conducting authority of CCMT 2018, has released the institute-wise seat allotment lists of candidates who have been allotted seats in round 1 on May 20. The seat allotment result can be checked on the CCMT website by clicking on the “Institute Wise Allotment” link and selecting the specific institute. Individual seat-allotment result is also available, but for checking that the candidate has to log-in to corresponding portal using GATE registration id, password, and security pin.

All candidates who have been allotted seats in round 1 have to report at the nearest reporting centre for document verification between May 21-24. Additionally, they have to opt for any of the three available options – float, slide, and freeze.

If a candidate opts for the freeze option, he/she will not be considered for up-gradation. On the other hand, slide option will enable the candidate to hold onto the offered seat while being open to a higher preference seat, but in the same institute. The third option, float should opted by the candidate if he/she is open to a higher preference in any institute.

In such cases, where a candidate is offered a higher preference seat in round 1 or 2, seat allotted to the candidate in the earlier round will be cancelled and will be available for allotment to some other candidate.

The counselling of CCMT is conducted in online mode. There are a total of three seat allotment rounds, with round 2 slated to take place on May 28. Round 2 will be conducted to fill vacant seats that are left after allotment in the previous round. It may be noted that for round 2, and also for round 3, no fresh choice filling will be allowed. The third and final round will be held on June 10.

How to check CCMT seat allotment result

To check individual seat allotment status, the candidate has to follow the following steps:

  • Go to CCMT website

  • Click on “Allotment Result”

  • Log-in to the portal using GATE registration id, password and security code displayed on screen

Please note that for checking institute-wise seat allotment, no log-in is required. Instead click on the “Institute Wise Allotment” and select the institute that you want to seat allotment status of.

Process to withdraw from seat allotment process and Spot Round

In this case the candidate has to report at a reporting centre (RC) and deposit his/her Provisional Seat Allotment Letter, proof of fee payment and document verification (DVC). The documents should be accompanied by a a duly filled withdrawal form. It must be borne in mind that once a seat is cancelled, the candidate won’t be able to participate in any of the three normal rounds of counselling. The candidate though will be eligible to appear in the national spot round (NSR) after completion of the three normal rounds.

For NSR round, there will be fresh registrations from July 4-16. The seat allotment for this round will take place on July 22.

The application form of CCMT was available from April 3-may 10. Registrations were open only for GATE qualified candidates (2018, 2017, 2016).
