CDS 2 notification released; Apply from August 8 to September 3

N EW DELHI , A UGUST 8: Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released Combined Defence Services (CDS) 2 notification along with the application form on August 8 . CDS 2 exam will be conducted for recruitment of Commissioned Officers in three defence services - Army, Navy and Air Force and Officers Training Academy on November 18, 2018. Total 414 vacancies have been announced. The last day to apply for CDS 2 online application form is September 3, 2018.

In order to fill the application form, candidates need to visit the official page for registration. The application form of CDS 2 has 2 parts – Part I involves registration and filling up of basic details, while in Part II, candidates have to upload their scanned photograph between (3KB to 40KB) and signature (1KB to 40KB) and select the mode of payment.
The fees can be paid either through online payment methods like Visa/Debit card or through offline SBI Challan. General and OBC candidates have to pay Rs. 200, while females and candidates belonging to SC/ST category are exempted from fee payment. While filling the second part of the application form, candidates must read and tick the dec laration checkbox, which means that you agree to finally submit the application form of CDS 2.
Post the completion of the application filling process, it’s advised to keep a print copy of application form for further reference. UPSC will only issue the admit card of written examination to the candidates who have successfully filled the application form.
To be eligible for CDS exam, candidates must be between 20 to 24 years and must have completed or appearing in the final year of graduation. CDS is conducted twice a year in February and November. Over 3 to 4 lakh candidates appear for CDS exam every year.
