Chandigarh University hosts AI Higher Education Summit 2025 at UP campus

NEW DELHI: Chandigarh University, Uttar Pradesh hosted the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Higher Education Summit 2025, today. The event, titled “From Classroom to Cloud: Pioneering the AI Future” was organised to discuss the role of AI in shaping the future of education and the workforce.

Brijesh Pathak, deputy chief minister of Uttar Pradesh was the chief guest at the AI Higher Education Summit 2025 where he addressed the audience and highlighted India’s AI advancements by emphasising the 1.25 billion dollar investment to support the nation’s AI ecosystem, the university said.

He further said that India is one of the top 10 AI-ready nations, drawing attention to the investments from Microsoft, Google, Nvidia, and Amazon. Pathak also presented AI’s far-reaching impact, from content creation to industries like manufacturing, logistics, and surveillance, the university added.

Deputy CM Pathak expressed his views on AI’s role in driving India’s economic growth and said that AI’s contribution to India’s GDP is projected to reach up to 1.5 trillion dollars by 2030.

On January 7, Chandigarh University announced the establishment of India’s first AI-integrated campus in Unnao, located in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.

He also announced the development of India’s first AI city in Lucknow’s Nadarganj area, which will span 70 acres and create over 50,000 AI jobs over the next five years, the university added.

Vivek Agrawal, managing director, Accenture Private Limited; MP Agrawal, IAS, principal secretary, higher education department, Government of Uttar Pradesh; Abhishek Parkash, IAS, CEO, Invest UP, Government of Uttar Pradesh; and Ravi Ranjan, IAS, managing director, UP Electronics Corporation Limited, Government of Uttar Pradesh were other dignitaries who participated in the event.

The panelists discussed the importance of aligning India’s education system with global trends and how AI can revolutionize teaching, research, and assessments. They focused on the need for cross-disciplinary learning, international collaborations, and personalized education to drive curriculum innovation.
