Chennai Mathematical Institute admission 2024 registration starts at cmi.ac.in; eligibility

The CMI will host the link of the admit card on May 12 and the entrance exam will be held on May 19.
NEW DELHI: The Chennai Mathematical Institute has opened the registration window for its undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes. Students will be able to apply for the bachelors and masters degree programme from March 4 to April 15 on the official website, cmi.ac.in. The entrance exam will be conducted on May 19.
The CMI will upload the admit card on May 12. The institute said students with exceptionally good performance in the National Olympiads in Mathematics, Physics and Informatics are exempted from writing the BSc entrance examination. The exam is being held for BSc (Hons) in Mathematics and Computer Science (3 year programme), BSc (Hons) in Mathematics and Physics (3 year programmes), MSc in Mathematics, MSc in Computer Science, MSc in Data Science, PhD in Mathematics, PhD in Computer Science and PhD in Physics
Eligibility for admission
Candidates should have the following qualification to apply for the CMI admission 2024:
- BSc (Hons) Mathematics and Computer Science: Class 12 or equivalent board exam
- BSc (Hons) Mathematics and Physics: Class 12 or equivalent board exam
- MSc in Mathematics: Bachelor’s degree (BA, BSc, BE and BTech) with a strong background in mathematics
- MSc in Computer Science: Bachelor’s degree (BA, BSc, BE and BTech) with a strong background in computer science
- MSc in Data Science: Bachelor’s degree (BA, BSc, BEa and BTech) with a background in mathematics or statistics or computer science.

Direct admission criteria
Students who meet these requirements will get direct admission:
- Students who have qualified for the International Mathematical Olympiad Training Camp (IMOTC) or European Girls Mathematical Olympiad Training Camp (EGMOOTC) in Class 11 or Class 12.
- Students who have qualified for the Orientation Cum Selection Camp (OCSC) in Physics in Class 11 or Class 12.
- Students who have qualified for the International Olympiad in Informatics Training Camp (IOITC), or have received a gold or silver medal at the Indian National Olympiad in Informatics (INOI) in Class 11 or Class 12.
