Chitkara University, Tribune host Principals' Meet 2023 in Chandigarh; 140 attend event

NEW DELHI: Chitkara University in partnership with the Tribune group of newspapers organised Principals' Meet-2023. Around 140 representatives from schools attended the event. The event aimed to explore the theme of 'Innovative Pedagogy and Effective Teaching Learning' in the modern school system. The seminar was designed for school principals and coordinators, for the exchange of ideas and the reimagining of education.
Pushpesh Pant, an academician and historian, was the key speaker at the meeting. Pant shared anecdotes and perspectives on education. He emphasised the value of tailoring education to a child's inclinations and highlighted the effectiveness of home-based learning.

The event provided for the exchange of ideas and discussions on school leadership and management were also done. Key challenges faced by school heads in the current educational landscape were addressed by the speaker, who underscored the importance of granting principals the autonomy needed to foster an environment conducive to learning. The role of innovative pedagogy in the enhancement of effective teaching and learning strategies was focused.
The main theme that was discussed in the seminar was the role of vocational education in preparing students for the job market. Pant highlighted “The integration of vocational education into mainstream curricula, ensuring that students are armed with practical skills that bolster their employability upon graduation.”

Chitkara University representatives delivered presentations on their ongoing efforts to drive research and collaborative initiatives aimed at elevating the overall quality of education in the region. Parul, assistant dean of the Department of Education at Chitkara University, discussed the university's achievements and contributions to the field.
Vani, assistant professor at the Department of Education, Chitkara University, extended a vote of thanks to all participants for their engagement and contributions as the event concluded.
