CLAT 2018: NUALS to accept representation mails until 1900 hrs May 27 following SC orders

NEW DELHI, MAY 26: NUALS Kochi, following the orders of Supreme Court of India, has notified that it will be accepting the representations against the technical glitches faced by the CLAT 2018 takers till May 27, 7:00 pm. The Supreme Court had ordered the National University of Advanced Legal Studies Kochi (NUALS), the conducting body of Common law Admissions Test (CLAT), while hearing a Writ Petition, vide date, May 25, 2018.

The test takers of CLAT 2018, who had faced the technical problems on the 13 ^th May online law admission test paper, can send their representations to the CLAT office in the mail by writing to representations@clat.ac.in up to the aforesaid mentioned date and time.

The NUALS has further clarified that only representations sent till the 1900 hours of May 27, 2018, will be considered.

How to send representations?

The CLAT 2018 takers will have to send their representations to the given official email address. They will also need to mention the following details in their representation mail–

1. Roll Number
2. Programme
3. Name
4. Mobile Number

What next?

After the representations have been made, the Grievance Redressal Committee constituting Retired Kerala High Court Judge, Justice MR Hariharan Nair and Head of Computer Science Department of Cochin University, Dr Santosh Kumar G, will be examining all the complaints of individual CLAT candidates and make recommendations to the Supreme Court and the NLU Kochi on May 30, 2018.

Story so far

The NUALS had constituted a Grievance Redressal Committee to deal with the complaints of the test takers against the Common Law Admission Test.

This came after when the Supreme Court directed the NLU to constitute a Grievance Redressal Forum and find amicable solutions for the ‘huge problems’.

CLAT 2018 was conducted on May 13 by NUALS Kochi heading the 19-NLU Core Committee. The online examination was marred by the alleged technical glitches at centres across India, following which the test takers are seeking justice in the courts against the ‘misconduct’ of CLAT 2018.

A number of petitions calling for the re-conduct of the Common Law Admission test have been filed in the High Courts of Delhi, Punjab & Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka.

The Common Law Admission Test is the national level law exam for admissions to 2300 undergraduate seats on offer in the participating 19 NLUs.
