Invitation for CLAT counselling 2021

The consortium will prepare open and category-wise CLAT 2021 merit lists considering marks obtained by candidates in the entrance exam. These merit lists will be used to shortlist and send invitations to candidates for CLAT 2021 counselling.

The consortium has said that the number of candidates that will be invited for CLAT counselling will be around five times the seat intake capacity for each category. It will publish the invite list for UG and PG programmes on its official website on July 29, which is the very next day after the declaration of CLAT results.

CLAT 2021 counselling process

The NLU Consortium will conduct centralized counselling for the 22 participating NLUs. As part of the CLAT counselling process, invite-list candidates will have to get registered, pay the counselling fee, and select NLUs. Check the step-wise process below.

  • Registration - Invite-list candidates need to get registered using their candidate and result credentials, and enter NLU preferences in the order of priority. Also, pay the counselling fee of Rs. 50,000

  • Seat allotment - The consortium will make seat allotments in five rounds. Allotments will be done considering CLAT merit rank 2021 and NLU preference opted by candidates.

  • Post-seat allotment options - Once a seat has been allotted, candidates have three options before them: 1) accept the seat, 2) Opt for an upgrade (not available for the last seat allotment round), 3) exit the admission process.
