NEW DELHI: The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has released the CLAT 2021 seat allotment for the second round of counselling today, August 9. The CLAT UG and PG seat allotment lists have been released for 22 NLUs participating in the counselling process. Shortlisted candidates may now complete the fee payment by August 10 (till 5 pm).

How to check CLAT seat allotment 2021

  1. Visit the candidate portal of CLAT consortium (Direct link is given above)

  2. Login using ID and password

  3. Click on the second allotment list given there

  4. Check if you have been allotted an NLU

Candidates who participated in the second round of allotment will now have three options.

a) Accept the allotted seat

b) Apply for upgrade

c) Exit from CLAT admission process

Option 1: Accept the allotment

Candidates selecting this option will not be able to apply for upgrade, even if a vacancy arises in the next round of allotment.

Such candidates will now be required to upload their documents and complete the fee payment by visiting the official website of the allotted NLU. Candidates are advised to check the list of documents required and the details about the fee payment on the official website of the allotted university.

After successful completion fee payment, candidates will have to update the payment status in their CLAT registered account.

Option 2: Apply for upgrade

Candidates who want to apply for an upgrade are also required to upload their documents and complete the fee payment process. Candidates who have been allotted a seat but has not submitted the fees or uploaded the documents will not be considered for an upgrade.

Option 3 - Exit from CLAT admission process

Candidates exercising this option will not be considered for the CLAT admission process at any stage, in all rounds of the admission process.

Fee payment guidelines for candidates who have been allotted NLU in first round

Candidates who were allotted seats in the first round of the allotment process will also have three options.

a) Accept the allotted seat

b) Apply for upgrade

c) Exit from CLAT admission process

Candidates who want to accept the allotted seat or still looking for an upgrade should upload the documents as per the instructions. Such candidates will need to pay the course fees, the details of which will be available on the official website of the allotted NLU. But, since such candidates have already paid the fees in the first round of allotment, they may have to pay any difference amount as specified by the allotted university in the second list.

Once the fee payment is complete, candidates will have to update the fee payment details in his/her CLAT account.

Candidates who have not been allotted a seat in the second list are advised to wait for the next list which will be released on August 13.
