CLAT 2024 result on December 10: Know previous year cut-offs for all NLUs

NEW DELHI: The CLAT cut-off is the minimum rank/marks that candidates need to attain in the examination to be eligible for admission to a National Law Universities (NLUs). The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) recently conducted the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2024. The scores of CLAT will be used by 23 NLUs for filling 5-year LLB seats. Since admission to NLUs is conducted based on merit cum preference, candidates are required to clear the merit cut-offs of these NLUs.

The CLAT result 2024 will be declared on December 10, 2023. According to the students and experts, the exam was easier compared to previous years and cut-off marks are likely to go higher this year. However, this should not affect the CLAT cut-off ranks for different NLUs as the seats offered by universities remain largely the same.

Factors affecting CLAT 2024 cut-offs

Some of the major determinants of CLAT cut offs have been given below:

• NLU preferences entered by candidates
• Difficulty level of CLAT exam
• Marks obtained by the candidates
• Seats offered by NLUs
• Reservation policy of NLUs

Given the revised exam pattern of CLAT and an easier question paper this year, CLAT cut-offs are expected to go higher. The most preferred NLUs are National Law School of India University, Bengaluru, NALSAR Hyderabad, WBNUJS Kolkata, NLU Jodhpur and GNLU Gandhinagar. The CLAT cut-offs in these NLUs will be higher than the remaining NLUs. A good score for these NLUs should be 90+ according to the experts.

Students who appeared for the entrance examination should check the previous year cut-offs of CLAT. This will give them a rough idea about their chances of getting admission in prestigious NLUs. The CLAT 2023 cut-offs for 5-year Integrated LLB for different NLUs are below:

The CLAT counselling registration is scheduled to start on December 12, 2023. Candidates will be allotted NLUs based on their college preferences. Candidates can view their NLU preferences from the CLAT login portal.
