NEW DELHI: Haryana is yet to decide on Class 12 board exam results. The results for Class 10 will be declared without conducting the science examination.
The Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar said in a live telecast that the Class 10 board result will be declared on the basis of performance in other subjects for which exams were held.
However, a separate exam for students who opt for the science subject will be conducted at a suitable time, he added.
Similarly, though the maths exam for Class 11 has not been conducted, the students will be promoted to Class 12. The maths exam will be conducted later, the chief minister said.
He said the decision regarding the promotion of Class 12 students has not been taken as yet.
The chief minister also said that students in Classes 1 to 8 will be promoted to the next class without any exam. Class 9 result will be declared this week, he added.
The Haryana Board of School Education (HBSE) conducts annual board examinations for Class 10 and Class 12.
As in the rest of the country, schools across Haryana have been closed down due to COVID-19 lockdown. Some of the exams that were initially postponed have been cancelled.
Meanwhile, the Central Board of Secondary Education has decided to conduct board examinations for only 29 subjects that are pending.
The board is expected to conduct the examinations once the COVID-19 lockdown is lifted.
