Cyclone Nivar: CSIR-UGC NET 2020 postponed in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry

NEW DELHI - The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued a notice in which they have mentioned that the CSIR UGC NET 2020 exam which was supposed to be conducted tomorrow on November 26 in Tamil Nadu has been postponed due to cyclone “Nivar.” The Mathematical Sciences and Chemical Sciences exam has also been postponed in the Union Territory of Puducherry which has also been marred by “Nivar.”

Cyclone Nivar hit the coastal state of Tamil Nadu yesterday and also to the Union Territory of Puducherry. Heavy rains and gutsy winds are have disrupted the normal life. Airports and power have been shut down.
About the CSIR UGC NET 2020 exam
The CSIR UGC NET 2020 exam is conducted twice every year to determine the eligibility of the candidates for the post of Assistant Professor in various colleges and universities. Those who qualify the CSIR UGC NET exam are awarded Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in the faculty of Science. The CSIR UGC NET exam is conducted for five subjects - Life Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Physical Science, and Earth Sciences.
This year the CSIR UGC NET 2020 exam is being held only once since the country is reeling under COVID 19 pandemic. Also earlier there was lockdown in different part of India due to novel corona virus.
