NEW DELHI : The National Testing Agency (NTA) will close the registration window for the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research National Eligibility Test (CSIR NET) 2024 December session exam today, December 30. Interested candidates who have not yet applied can fill out the CSIR UGC NET December 2024 application form through the official website at csirnet.nta.ac.in.
As per the schedule, the last date to pay the CSIR UGC NET December 2024 application fee is December 31, 2024. The CSIR UGC NET exam is scheduled to be held from February 16 to 28. The exam will be conducted in both English and Hindi, allowing applicants to choose their preferred language.
The CSIR UGC NET 2024 exam includes five subjects: Chemical Sciences, Earth Sciences (which includes Atmospheric, Ocean, and Planetary Sciences), Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, and Physical Sciences.
CSIR UGC NET 2024: Application fee
Candidates belonging to the general category have to pay the CSIR UGC NET application fee of Rs 1,150, other backward classes (OBC)-non-creamy layer candidates have to Rs 600. While the CSIR UGC NET application fee for SC, ST, PwD, and other category candidates is Rs 325.
Candidates can pay the CSIR UGC NET application fee via debit cards, credit cards, and net banking.
CSIR UGC NET 2024 age limit
NTA revised the age limit for JRF from 28 to 30 years. However, age relaxation is provided to the reserved category candidates. For the position of Assistant Professor or for applying for PhD programs, there is no upper age limit. Candidates can check the category-wise age relaxation for JRF as per the eligibility criteria of CSIR NET 2024 December session.

There is no upper age limit as per the CSIR NET eligibility criteria for Joint CSIR UGC-NET for Assistant Professor/ Joint CSIR-UGC-NET for Admission to PhD.

Candidates can follow the steps given below to apply for CSIR UGC NET 2024 exam.
Step 1: Visit the official website of the exam – csirnet.nta.ac.in.
Step 2: Click on the link available for filling out the application form
Step 3: Click on the ‘New Registration’ button
Step 4: Download the CSIR NET information brochure and read the instructions
Step 5: Click on the checkbox at the bottom of the page and select on the ‘Click Here to Proceed’ button.
Step 6: Click on submit and pay the application fee.
