CSIR UGC NET July 2024 result out; download scorecard at csirnet.nta.ac.in

NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has declared the Joint Council of Scientific and Industrial Research National Eligibility Test (CSIR NET) July 2024 results today, September 12. Candidates who appeared for the exams can check their CSIR UGC NET 2024 results on the official website csirnet.nta.nic.in.

Candidates will have to enter their application number and date of birth to log in and download the CSIR UGC NET July 2024 scorecard. The CSIR UGC NET scorecard 2024 will include details such as the candidate’s name, mother’s name, father’s name, category, gender, application number, paper-wise marks, total marks, total percentage, qualifying status and CSIR-NET subject code.

Candidates who scored marks equal to or above the CSIR UGC NET July 2024 cut-off have been declared qualified. Qualified candidates will receive their CSIR UGC NET July 2024 eligibility certificate after the document verification process is completed.

To qualify for the CSIR UGC NET exam, candidates from the general, Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), and Other Backward Classes (OBC) categories must score a minimum of 33% to be eligible for both fellowship and lectureship. Candidates from Persons with Disabilities (PwD), Scheduled Caste (SC), and Scheduled Tribe (ST) categories must achieve a minimum score of 25% to qualify for these posts.

CSIR UGC NET July 2024: Normalisation method

Since the CSIR NET exam is conducted in multiple shifts, the NTA follows a normalisation process to ensure fairness in scoring. The NTA calculates a percentile score based on the raw marks obtained by candidates across all shifts. These percentile scores, ranging from 100 to 0, reflect the relative performance of all candidates.

If there are differences in percentiles across shifts, the lowest percentile will be considered the eligibility cut-off for that category. The highest scorer in each session will receive a percentile of 100, and all scores in between are converted to percentiles. These normalized scores are used to prepare the merit lists, calculated up to seven decimal places to minimise ties.

The CSIR UGC NET exam is conducted twice every year to award research fellowships for training in methods of research under expert guidance of faculty members or scientists working in university departments, national laboratories and institutions in various fields of science. The NTA conducted the CSIR UGC NET July 2024 exam on July 25, 26, and 27.
