Check NowThe Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the CBSE Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2026 exam date for the September session. Paper 1 and paper 2 will be held on December 12 and 13, as per the CTET exam 2026 date. The CTET 2026 city intimation slip will be issued 15 days before the exam on the official website at ctet.nic.in.

The 22nd edition of the CTET exam was earlier scheduled to be held on September 6, 2026 and September 5 as the reserve date. Following the directions of the Supreme Court, the exam was postponed, and CBSE has reopened the application process for CTET exam 2026 from August 25 to September 1 for eligible candidates.
As per the notice, the information regarding the city intimation and the CTET exam date allotted to each candidate will be announced 15 days before the exam on the CTET official website. However, candidates will get to know their exact examination venue on their CTET admit card 2026. CBSE will issue the CTET 2026 admit card two days before the examination. Candidates will be able to access the CTET admit card link on the CBSE website.

CTET 2026: Exam pattern
The CTET 2026 exam will be conducted in computer-based test (CBT) mode. The exam consists of two papers, with Paper 1 for candidates seeking to teach Classes 1 to 5 and Paper 2 for those intending to teach Classes 6 to 8. Both papers comprise 150 multiple-choice questions carrying 150 marks, with each question carrying one mark. The duration of each paper is 2 hours and 30 minutes. There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.
