CTET 2026 September application closes today; apply at ctet.nic.in

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will close the facility to apply for the CTET 2026 examination today for candidates aiming to become teachers in government schools for Classes 1 to 8. Individuals can apply for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) examination through the official website at ctet.nic.in.

The board has not yet announced the CTET 2026 September session exam date. However, the board is expected to announce the test date and time soon.

Earlier, the CTET 2026 application window was closed on June 10, but as per the candidates’ request to the board, the CBSE reopened it for those who could not apply.

General and Other Backward - Non Creamy Layer (OBC NCL) candidates can register for CTET 2026 September exam by paying a requisite fee of Rs 1,000 for one paper and Rs 1,200 for two papers.

Scheduled Caste (SC), and Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disability (PwD) candidates will have to pay Rs 500 for one paper and Rs 600 for two subjects.

CTET 2026: How to apply

Candidates can check the steps given below to apply for the CTET 2026.

• Go to the official website at ctet.nic.in.
• Click on the “Apply for CTET 2026 link.”
• A new window will be opened.
• Click on “new registration.”
• Then click on acknowledgement and press the process.
• Fill the form and upload required documents.
• Submit the requisite application fee.
• Press submit button.
• CTET 2026 registration will be done.
• Download the submitted application.

The CTET 2026 question paper will consist of 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), carrying 150 marks.

Notably, there will be no negative marking in CTET 2026 and for each correct answer, candidates will be given one mark.
