CUET 2022 Latest Update

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has changed the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) 2022 registration date and now will start the application process from April 6 for UG admissions 2022-23. Candidates will be able to apply for CUET or CUCET 2022 from April 6 to 5 pm of May 6.

CUET 2022: Revised schedule 

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the revised schedule for CUET 2022 exam on - nta.ac.in. As per the new schedule, the CUET UG application form 2022 for will be available from April 6 and May 6. The CUET entrance exam 2022 for UG programmes will be conducted in the first and second week of July.

EFLU admission 2022: English compulsory

As per the EFLU 2022 admission criteria, the students have to appear for one language test and a general test in CUET 2022 test. The university will offer admissions to UG courses through CUET 2022. The language opted should be English only.

CUET 2022: No changes in reservation policy

The CUET exam 2022 will have no impact on the existing reservation policies of the central universities. As per the PTI report, "The universities can enroll candidates for the general seats as well as for the reserved seats on the basis of CUET scores. It will not impact the existing admission and reservation policy".

CUET merit list 2022

Each participating university will release the CUET merit list 2022 on its official website after the completion of counselling registration. The CUET 2022 merit list will mention the name of the candidates shortlisted for admission to the college based on their scores in the entrance examination. 

When will CUET 2022 be conducted?

The CUET examination will be conducted in the first week of July. CUET 2022 will be conducted for admission to UG courses in all central universities. CUET scores can also be used for admission to state, private and deemed-to-be universities.

Is CUET for PG courses?

No, the CUET 2022 will only be conducted for UG courses offered by participating universities. The participating universities have not made any announcement regarding the admission process to their PG courses yet.

What universities are included in CUET?

Starting from this academic year, all central universities along with Delhi University, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Jamia Millia Islamia, University of Allahabad and English and Foreign Languages University are taking part in the CUET 2022.

What is the last date to register for CUET 2022? 

The last date to fill the CUET application form 2022 is April 30. The candidates need to submit the CUET application form and pay the registration fee before the deadline at cuet.samarth.ac.in.

How do I apply for CUET 2022?

CUET: Is there any weightage to Class 12 marks?

UGC has clarified that the Class 12 marks will play no role for admissions to undergraduate programmes in central universities and admissions will be done on the basis of the CUET 2022 score. The Class 12 marks will only be used by participating universities for defining the minimum percentage in eligibility conditions.

What is the mode of CUET exam? 

The CUET entrance test will be conducted in computer-based mode. The applicants have to sit for the online CUCET exam 2022 at their allotted exam centre.

CUET: JMC, St Stephen’s seek clarity for minority reservation

The minority colleges of University of Delhi, St. Stephen’s College and Jesus and Mary college have written the university about the clarity on admission process of the institutions. Both of the DU colleges reserve 50% of their seats for Christian students. DU’s statutory bodies have announced that admissions to minority institutions will be done through CUET 2022.

Can we use a calculator in CUET?

No, candidates are not allowed to use a calculator in the CUET 2022 exam. Students will have to do all the calculations by themselves during the CUET UG entrance exam 2022. Any candidate who is caught with a calculator while attending the CUET exam will face appropriate repercussions.

Is the CUET exam online?

Yes, the CUET entrance exam for undergraduate courses will be conducted in computer-based mode by the NTA. However, candidates will be given a blank sheet for rough work while attending the CUET exam 2022.

CUET 2022 counselling

Each participating university will conduct their own CUET counselling 2022. To appear in the CUET 2022 counseling, candidates will have to first register themselves on the official website of the participating university. Only those candidates who have passed the CUET entrance exam and are mentioned in the merit list are eligible to take part in the counselling process. The CUET counselling 2022 includes various procedures like registration, choice filling, admission list announcement, document verification and admission fee payment.

The admission to UG programmes offered at Jamia Millia Islamia will be conducted through CUET entrance exam. Thus, candidates need to fill and submit the CUET 2022 application form till April 30.

What is the eligibility for CUET?

CUET admission list

All universities participating in the CUET 2022 will release their own admission list and merit list based on the marks obtained in the CUET examination. CUET 2022 admission process

The NTA will start the CUET 2022 admission process by releasing the application form today. Candidates who have submitted the CUET application form have to download the admit card and then appear for the CUET exam 2022 in the first week of July. The participating universities will conduct their own counselling process and release the admission list and merit list on the basis of CUET 2022 scores.

CUET 2022: EFLU exam pattern 

The admission to various UG programmes offered at English and Foreign Languages University will be conducted through the CUET exam. However, the exam pattern of CUET which will be conducted for admission to EFLU is different from regular CUET exam pattern. As per the notification, candidates only have to appear for the language test (English proficiency test only) and the general test. No domain test and no optional language test will be included in the EFLU UG question paper.

CUET 2022: Exam sections 

The question paper of CUET 2022 will consist of a language test, an optional language exam, a domain test and a general test. Candidates can select a maximum of three language tests and six domain tests.

EFLU UG courses 2022

Candidates have to qualify the CUET 2022 to get admission into various UG programmes such as BA (Hons.) in English, Arabic, Chinese, journalism and mass communication, etc, offered at Hyderabad and Shillong campus of English and Foreign Languages University.

Are CUET and CUCET the same?

The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) 2022 exam will be conducted to enroll students into various UG programmes offered at all central universities including DU, JNU, JMI, EFLU and University of Allahabad. On the other hand, the Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET) was held for admission to various UG, PG and integrated PG programmes offered by the 12 central universities. The CUCET exam has been replaced with the CUET 2022 exam for admission to central universities.

EFLU admission 2022

The English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU) has announced that admission to its undergraduate programmes will be conducted through the CUET 2022 entrance exam. No announcement has been made by EFLU regarding the PG admission process yet. The EFLU admission to PG programmes is conducted through the English and Foreign Languages University Entrance Examination (EFLUEE).

Along with all central universities, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) will also conduct admission to its undergraduate programmes based on the marks secured by candidates in the CUCET 2022 entrance examination. Candidates should also know that no importance will be given to marks scored by them in Class 12th board exam.

Test domains for CUET 2022

The CUCET 2022 entrance exam will be conducted for 27 test domains. Candidates can attend two domain tests in the first shift and remaining four domain tests in the second shift. Some of the test domains are biotechnology, economics, history, accountancy, biology, geography, home science, bookkeeping, chemistry, computer science, business studies, entrepreneurship, engineering graphics, legal studies, physical education, mathematics, physics, political science, psychology, sociology, agriculture, teaching aptitude and more.

CUET exam pattern 2022

The NTA will conduct the CUET 2022 entrance exam in two shifts. The CUET entrance exam 2022 will be held in computer based mode. The question papers of CUCET 2022 will include both objective type and multiple choice questions. The total number of questions asked in the CUET 2022 entrance exam will be 175. 

CUET Syllabus 2022

The CUET syllabus 2022 for section IA and IB includes reading comprehension based on different types of passages factual, literary and narrative. The CUCET syllabus for section II aligns with the syllabus of Class 12th. The questions in section III of CUET 2022 exam will be related to general knowledge, current affairs, general mental ability, numerical ability, quantitative reasoning, logical and analytical reasoning.

Delhi University adopts CUET 2022

From this year, Delhi University will conduct the CUET 2022 entrance exam to admit students into undergraduate courses offered by the DU and its affiliated colleges. It must be noted that no DU cut off will be released for UG programmes this year.

NTA considering conducting CUET 2022 twice a year

M Jagadesh Kumar, chairman, UGC said in an interview to PTI that the National Testing Agency (NTA), which is responsible for conducting the exam, will consider conducting the CUET 2022 twice a year from the next session.

CUET 2022 participating universities

This year, all central universities will be participating in the CUET 2022. State universities, private universities and deemed-to-be universities can also use the marks obtained in the CUCET entrance exam 2022 to conduct admission to their own UG and PG programmes.

CUET application form 2022: How to pay fee?

The CUET 2022 application fee for UG programmes will be paid through debit card, credit card, net banking or UPI. Candidates of general and OBC category need to pay an application fee of Rs. 800, while candidates belonging to SC/ST category have to remit Rs. 350 as application fee. It must be noted that candidates of PwD category do not have to pay any application fee.
