CUET 2022 Exam (Day 2) : CUET UG slot 2 over; analysis, questions papers, answer key, latest updates

The CUET 2022 exam for day 2 is over now. The entrance test was held for 10 subjects in first slot with 77% attendance and with 74% in second slot for similar number of subjects.

The NTA has concluded CUET UG 2022 exam day 2 second slot at 6:45 pm.

A total of 53,670 students appeared for day 2 exam of CUET UG 2022. Jagadesh Kumar, UGC chairman in a press release, said, “The examination was held in 247 centres across the country where the number of candidates allotted in the first slot were 35836 out of which 27642 attended. The attendance in slot 1 was 77%. In the second slot 26028 candidates attended out of a total of 36109. The overall percentage of attendance in the second slot was 74%.”

The CUET UG exam day 2 was less chaotic as many who appeared on the first day helped students in understanding the pattern. The students said they learned lessons from the glitches on the first day. 

"Yesterday was chaotic. Centres were changed at the last minute. So this gave us a heads-up and I kept on checking the website to see if there was any change of centre. To be on the safer side, I reached the centre two hours before the entry time. But I feel bad for those who missed their exams yesterday," said Sachin, a student, in a report by PTI.

The CUET 2022 will be conducted for around 54,555 unique combinations of subjects.

A student took into Twitter and wrote about the server problems that he faced during the CUET examination due to which he could not attempt more questions.

The universities providing admissions through CUET scores will use their own reservation policy for seat distribution and the minimum percentage required. The candidates from the reserved category must submit their original documents at the time of admission. It is advisable for the candidates to read the CUET 2022 reservation criteria and quota policies before applying for the admission.

The CUET 2022 entrance test have four sections. Section IA consists of one language test, section IB contain an optional language test, section II consists of domain-specific papers and section III comprises of the general test.

"Most students have reacted positively to the difficulty level of the exam as most of the questions were from NCERT, as expected. However, some students claim that a few questions were not from the NCERT syllabus," said, Ramnath Kanakadandi, National CAT course director, T.I.M.E.

Ramnath Kanakadanadi, National CAT course director, T.I.M.E shared the CUET 2022 exam analysis for slot 1. He said that the English paper could be considered as easy with short passage based comprehension, vocabulary and grammatical analysis questions. Maths paper also could not be considered as difficult and required basic understanding similar to that of the board examinations.

General test was easy too and required basic knowledge of current and traditional general knowledge with questions from economics, government schemes, chief ministers, folk dances and poverty index that students found quite easy and doable. Logical reasoning had questions from analogy, blood relations and directions.

Domain subjects were mostly passage based with 5 questions each.

Apart from being simple, the paper was doable in terms of length too. Most questions required straightforward answers, thereby saving time.

Overall, almost everyone found the paper not lengthy and the difficulty level easy-moderate.

As this is the first year of the test at this scale, cut-offs of the CUET score for admission into various universities can only be understood after the admissions take place.

NTA will not release the CUET 2022 merit list. On the basis of the scores obtained by the candidates in the NTA CUET exam, the participating universities will release the CUET merit list. The CUET merit list 2022 will be used by the central universities for providing admissions in various courses.

Jagadesh Kumar, UGC chairman, has clarified that the students who have missed their CUET UG exams on July 15 because of the last-minute change in the test centre will not get the second chance to appear in the second phase exam, as per the report by Hindustan Times.

Candidates will be awarded 5 marks for each correct response. While answering the questions, the candidate should choose the most appropriate answer. The NTA will deduct one mark for every incorrect answer, as per the CUET 2022 marking scheme. No marks will be deducted for not answering a question.

The CUET 2022 admit card for phase 2 exam will be released on July 31.

The CUET entrance exam 2022 will consist of no aptitude test. The entrance exam will consist of a general test, a compulsory language test and domain specific test.

• Candidates must arrive at the exam center as per reporting time, 

• Once the gate is closed, candidates will not be able to enter the test venue.

• The CUET UG admit card must be filled out, a photograph pasted, and the candidate's signature is required.

• Candidates will be required to carry a valid ID proof along with their CUET UG admit card 2022.

The Indian Express quoted, Anshu Mittal, principal, MRG School, Rohini, as saying, "Several papers have been scheduled on the same day for some students. Compared to those taking their examinations several days apart, they believe this puts them at a disadvantage. Time and date of exams should be set so as not to put unnecessary pressure on students, but rather to help them prepare for their exams in a relaxed and peaceful manner".

The CUET UG 2022 day 2, phase 1 first slot exam will begin today at 9:00 am.

CUET exam will be held in two shifts on several days as follows: 

Morning shift: 9:00 am to 12:15 pm 

Afternoon shift: 03:00 pm to 06:45 pm

The implementation of CUET 2022 will not change the admission process of School of Open Learning, University of Delhi. There will be no entrance test for DU SOL 2022 UG admission. The DU SOL provides admission to five UG courses - BA (Hons) English, BA (Hons) Political Science, BCom (H), B.Com and BA.

For the CUET entrance test 2022, there are 27 test domains. Students can appear for two domain tests in the first shift and remaining four domain tests in the second shift. It includes anthropology, book keeping, sociology, psychology, mathematics, political science, etc.

Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan that the CUET exam is a step in the right direction and any challenges associated with the exam will be resolved at the earliest. However, on the first day of the debut edition of CUET, surfaced many complaints from students regarding the last-minute change of exam centres, long commute for students and lengthy question papers.

"I had a hard time reaching the exam centre. They alloted me the fourth preferred city to me. Amravati or Wardha would have been closer.  It was difficult for me especially because I am new to this city. I could not find any conveyance to reach and finally got an auto that took me to the spot. The exam was easy to attempt. I have a few more to write in August. For that also I need to travel to third preferred city," said Yash Datar, Yavatmal, Maharashtra.

The CUET UG 2022 phase 1 slot 2 exam is concluded at 6:45 pm. The CUET 2022 phase 1 exam for day 1 is over now.

“I sat for two papers – history and legal studies today in slot 1. I studied history in Class 12 and I have given my best in this paper but I could not solve the legal studies paper completely. I didn’t face any server issues at the exam center. I did not face any problem in reaching the exam center as it was just 7-8 KM away from my home. The whole process went well. I want to take admission either in psychology or political science at DU. My second slot is scheduled on August 8 and I am preparing for the same,” said Anshika Yadav, a student from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.

Anshika is currently waiting for her Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 12 results. She is seeking admission at Delhi University (DU) after clearing Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG 2022.

The Indian Express quoted Pallavi Upadhyaya, principal, DPS RNE, as saying, "The general reactions have been positive, with students commenting that the CUET paper was easy and not lengthy. The question paper followed a generic format with English and maths papers being uncomplicated and fairly easy to solve. What must be credited as it was the first CUET paper, the questions were straightforward, requiring plain and simple answers. There were no loaded or indirect questions, which probably could have confused students. The questions did not require a lengthy response, but short and crisp answers, which also relaxed and saved time for students," 

A video surfacing on the social media shows parents raising issue of the CUET exam centre change nearby a test centre.

A Twitter user raised the concern over the CUET exam centre location and said, "My kid's #CUET centre is middle of nowhere, in Gurgaon district, a place where there is no public transport. I have a vehicle so despite the inconvenience could go 40 kms to the test centre. What about kids who depend on public transport? Such callousness is unconscionable".

The CUET UG 2022 phase 1 examination for second slot has started from 3pm. The examination will be concluded at 6:45 pm.

Candidates appearing for the entrance test should try to reach the CUET exam centre at least half an hour before the commencement of the CUET UG 2022 exam.

He said "Till yesterday evening my exam centre was at Dwarka, which was suddenly shifted to the north campus, DU late at night. When I reached my exam centre in Dwarka, I found that it was relocated to DU north campus. I reached around 10 am, an hour after the exam, and missed it."

This year, 14.9 lakh students registered for the CUET, the common gateway for undergraduate admissions in all participating universities.

A  CUET aspirant took into Twitter and shared an email sent by the NTA. He said that NTA has sent an email to him informing that they have revised the test centre, due to the technical reasons. A revised CUET UG admit card has also been issued by the agency.

Those students who have missed the CUET 2022 July 15 exam, due to the change in test centre on July 14, will be allowed to appear in the phase 2 examination (August), as per the report by the Times of India.

Akshat, a CUET aspirant tweeted that his CUET 2022 exam scheduled for slot 1 got postponed to slot 2, due to some technical issues, as told to him by the test centre.

CUET UG 2022 exam scheduled for July 15 has been cancelled for two exam centres, New Jalpaiguri and Pathankot, as per the report by Times Of India. Those students whose exam have been cancelled will be allotted slots in the CUET phase 2 examination.

Yash Datar, a CUET aspirant form Yavatmal, Maharashtra, told Careers 360  "Today I will be appearing for history, economics, geography and mathematics in CUET exam. I have got admission to a BA course at Modern College of arts, science and commerce but I had kept CUET as my backup. I have traveled from Yavatmal to Nagpur to appear for this test. I have done no special preparation because I got admission to the course I wanted." Nagpur is two hours journey from Yavatmal. 

He will also be appearing for general test, physics, chemistry and English on August 8 for CUET phase 2 exam. 

CUET registration 2022 window was closed on June 26.
