NEW DELHI: The debut day of India's second biggest exam – Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG 2022 didn’t go smooth at all as aspirants literally ran to their examination centres while some couldn’t even reach! Reason? Last minute changes in exam centres. Whereas, some candidates who did reach their centres were informed that their exam has been cancelled and will be conducted in slot 2. Furious, anxious and confused CUET UG 2022 candidates along with some parents shared their ordeal on Twitter. The CUET exam is being conducted in 2 slots. Aspirants who could not appear for the crucial exam on the first day due to a change in centres will get another chance in the second phase in August, according to the National Testing Agency (NTA) officials. CUET UG 2022 exam was cancelled at two centres in West Bengal's New Jalpaiguri and Punjab's Pathankot due to technical issues. "Over 190 candidates who were to appear at the two centres will now be allowed to appear in the second phase in August. At other centres, the candidates who could not appear due to changes in exam centres will also get another chance," a senior NTA official said.
The exam is being conducted in two phases. Phase 1 is being held in July and Phase 2 will be in August. Candidates who have opted for Physics, Chemistry or Biology have been assigned to Phase 2 of the CUET exam.
A candidate said on Twitter, “So My CUCET(UG) slot 1 was scheduled today 15 July 2022 at SWAMI SARVANAND INSTITUTE ENGINEERING & TECHNOLOGY Pathankot. But due to technical issues they said that you exam is postponed to slot 2.”

“I have no clarity about the re scheduling of my CUCET UG Slot 1. I have not received any mail from NTA about that Just went to the exam centre and they said your exam is re-scheduled,” he added. Another candidate wrote in a tweet in caps, “AT THE VERY LAST MOMENT, THEY HAVE CHANGED MY EXAM CENTRE WHICH IS 3 HOURS AWAY FROM MY HOME.”

A Twitter user informed, “Hello all, Kindly redownload your admit card of given date 16/7/22, 17/7/22. As department changed their centre, due to some reasons. They are sending mails and making call to aware students, we also have to convey the same message.”

A parent of a candidate appearing for the exam tweeted, “My daughter missed her CUET exam because her exam centre was changed midnight at 11:45 and the new centre was 60 km from previous centre in different city.”
