CUET final answer key will be uploaded 1 day prior to result declaration: NTA assures Delhi HC

NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has assured the Delhi High Court that it will take steps to upload the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) final answer key a day prior to the declaration of results. Justice C Hari Shankar was hearing two pleas challenging the final answer key of CUET 2022. The petitioner was demanding reconsidering the objections raised by him against the answer key.

The HC judgment read that the court has been assured that in future, this would not happen and that any exercise of consideration of objections to the provisional answer key would be undertaken only prior to the final result of the examination of the CUET. “Candidates will be able to access the CUET final answer key only through the individual login ID and password of the candidate concerned,” the judgment read.

The court added that it is satisfied with the explanation. It also directed the NTA to ensure that these assurances are scrupulously adhered to in future. The NTA also told the court that it is taking necessary measures so that no answer keys are revised after declaration of result.

Steps taken by NTA

The court was told that NTA has engaged a delivery agency/ service provider who has an enhanced outreach with an increased number of computer nodes and an advanced solution that reduces administrative efforts and costs by automation. The NTA is also planning meticulously for CUET-UG 2024 to ensure a seamless process for the conduct of this examination. To conduct the examination in a fair and smooth manner, advanced logistical arrangements and comprehensive workshops and training are being conducted for orienting and sensitising the subject experts.

The NTA has released the examination calendar for the academic year 2024-25 on September 14, 2023, for its major examinations and schedule of CUET-UG 2024 in January first week.

Several persons had raised grievances against the CUET 2022 final answer key. The NTA conducted the CUET for the first time in 2022. The NTA had then reviewed the objections and revised the CUET 2022 result.
