KEA announces DCET 2026 round 1 option entry dates for lateral engineering admission

KEA: Candidates seeking direct admission to the 3rd semester of engineering can register their options on the official website, cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea/, till August 17
The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has announced the Diploma Common Entrance Test (DCET) round 1 counselling dates 2026. Diploma candidates seeking direct admission to the 3rd semester of engineering can register their options till August 17.
Candidates applying for DCET counselling 2026 must note that admission to engineering colleges will be subject to the seat matrix issued by the government of Karnataka and the applicable All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) guidelines governing diploma holders with work experience.
Candidates can download the DCET seat matrix 2026 PDF on the official website, cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea/.

DCET is a state-level entrance exam in Karnataka conducted by the KEA. It allows diploma holders and eligible graduates to get direct admission (lateral entry) into the second year (third semester) of undergraduate engineering (BE or BTech) and first-year architecture courses across day and evening colleges in Karnataka.
