Defence studies need to be a part of school curriculum: Brigadier Sawant

Kargil War veteran Brigadier Sudhir Sawant advocated for incorporating defence studies into the school curriculum to instill a sense of national duty among students.
NEW DELHI: Kargil War veteran Brigadier Sudhir Sawant (retired) highlighted the importance of incorporating defence studies into the school curriculum on June 14. He stated that such education would instill a sense of national duty among students.
Highlighting the prevailing conditions in the country, Brigadier Sawant stressed the need for youth involvement in the defence sector. "Equipping students with knowledge of defence will greatly contribute to fostering a sense of national duty among them," said Sawant, who is currently the chairman of the forum for strategic studies.
Sawant's remarks come at a time when the country faces various security challenges, underscoring the significance of national preparedness and awareness among the younger generation.
