Delhi government issues SOP on opening schools for Classes 10-12

The Delhi government has issued guidelines on opening schools for Classes 10-12 for admissions, counselling, practical related activities.
NEW DELHI: The Delhi government has issued standard operating procedures (SOP) on opening schools for students of Classes 10 to 12 for admissions, practicals for board exams, counselling, health related activities. The government allowed students of Classes 10, 11 and 12 to visit schools for permitted activities from August 9.
According to the official notification, the government has asked the heads of schools to prepare schedules as per the capacity of classrooms or labs in their respective schools while following COVID appropriate behaviour (CAB).
The school heads have also been asked to identify a quarantine room in their school premises in case any student or staff member shows COVID-19 symptoms. Although, the government has asked heads not to permit any symptomatic student or teacher in the school campus.

SOPs on permitted activities
“Students, teachers and employees living in the containment zone will not be allowed to come to school,” the official notification added.
Students must have a written consent of their parents to visit schools, as per the notification.
Further, the government has asked schools to follow safety measures such as thermal screening at gates; maintaining social distancing; providing masks; avoiding crowding at school gates; proper sanitization of school premises, and others.
“There should be a gap of at least one hour between exit of last group of morning shift and entry of the first group of evening shift in double shifted schools,” the official notification also observed.
In July, education minister Manish Sisodia had sought suggestions from parents, teachers, and students on reopening of schools in Delhi. Schools in Delhi have remained closed due to the pandemic situation and are holding online classes.
