Delhi NMMS 2023: Registration starts from August 7, exam on November 19
The National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme is conducted for Class 8. The selected students will get a scholarship of Rs 1,000.

NEW DELHI: The Directorate of Education Science, New Delhi, will start the registration process for the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS) from August 7. The DoE also announced the Delhi NMMS exam date 2023 on the official website, edudel.nic.in. Delhi Government school students studying in Class 8 are eligible to appear in the NMMS exam to be conducted on November 19.

The heads of Delhi government schools can enrol students of Class 8 for the scheme from August 7 to September 9 on the official website, edudel.nic.in.

Students belonging to general category should have secured 55% marks while those from reserved category who have got 50% in Class 7 examination will be eligible to appear in the exam.
The annual family income of students should not exceed Rs 3,50,000 in the financial year 2023-24. Candidates will have to produce the income certificates signed by the local sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) or tehsildar.
Students belonging to SC and ST categories will be provided 15% and 7.5% reservation. Candidates belonging to persons with disabilities (PwD) will get 4% reservation.
The examination will consist of two papers – Mental Ability Test (MAT) and Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) – carrying 90 marks each. Students will get 90 minutes to attempt each paper. Each question will carry one mark and there will be no negative marking.

To qualify the exam, the general category students will have to get 40% and those from reserved category will have to secure 32% marks in both papers.
The Delhi government will then prepare a merit list which will be sent to the ministry of education. The selected students will get a scholarship of Rs 1,000 per month till Class 12.
How to apply for NMMS 2023
- Visit the official website of the directorate of education – edudel.nic.in.
- Enter the school login Id and password, and submit.
- Click on the link ‘school plant’, ‘scholarship’ ‘school information entry form’ and then ‘application form’.
- Fill the application form with personal and academic details.
- Download the application confirmation page.
