Delhi schools to reopen for Classes 10, 12 from January 18

Delhi government has allowed the schools for Class 10th and 12th students to reopen from January 18. The students can be called only after the consent of the parents.
NEW DELHI : The Delhi government is all set to reopen schools for Classes 10 and 12 students from January 18. The Delhi government has said that the schools can only call the students with the parent’s permission. In addition to this, all the necessary measures will be taken for the safety of the students from COVID-19.
The national capital agreed for the reopening of schools for Class 10, 12 in order to make sure that the students do not miss out on pre-board and practical exam preparation.
In the circular issued on Wednesday, the Directorate of Education (DoE) said, “In order to conduct the activities pertaining to pre-board preparations and practical work, the head of government, aided and unaided recognised schools may call the students of classes 10 and 12 only to school with effect from January 18, 2021.”
दिल्ली में CBSE बोर्ड परीक्षाओं व प्रैक्टिकल के मद्देनज़र 10वीं और 12 वीं क्लास के लिए 18 जनवरी से प्रैक्टिकल, प्रोजेक्ट, काउंसिलिंग आदि के लिए स्कूल खोलने की अनुमति दी जा रही है. अभिभावकों की सहमति से ही बच्चों को बुलाया जा सकेगा. बच्चों को आने के लिए बाध्य नहीं किया जाएगा.

The circular further stated, “...the child should be called to school only with the consent of parents, following the enclosed standard operating procedure. Further, while the records of children coming to school be maintained, the same should not be used for attendance purposes as sending the child to school is completely optional for parents.”
Only those students, teachers and staff will be allowed in the schools who are not living in the containment zones. Proper guidelines have been sent to the schools which include proper sanitisation, social distancing and no physical or outdoor activities.
Earlier, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal announced the CBSE board exam dates 2021 for Class 10th, 12th. The board exams will be conducted from May 4 to June 10.
