Delhi SoSE Class 9 results 2024 declared; subject-wise selection process

NEW DELHI: The Directorate of Education (DoE) Delhi has declared the Dr B R Ambedkar Schools of Specialised Excellence (ASOSE) Class 9 admission aptitude test results. Students who appeared in the exam held in January will be able to check their scores and qualifying status through the official website, edudel.nic.in. There are 37 specialised schools of excellence with 4,400 seats in Delhi.

The directorate said that at least 50% seats in each SoSE will be offered to students from government or government-aided schools of Delhi and the remaining seats will be made available for students studying in any recognized school in the national capital.

“Results for admission (2024-25) in Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Schools of Specialised Excellence for STEM (Class - IX), High End 21st Century Skills (Class - IX), Performing and Visual Arts (Class - IX) and Humanities (Class - IX) have been published,” the official website read.

The Delhi SoSE exams were conducted from January 19 to 28 at various locations. Students appeared in five subjects - performing and visual arts, high-end 21st century skills, humanities, Shaheed Bhagat Singh - Armed Forces Preparatory School; and Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).

Ambedkar SoSE admission policy

Students can check the subject-wise admission criteria for Class 9 here. Students who have cleared the performing and visual arts will have to participate in the audition round next. Admission to STEM course will be based on written test only.

ASoSE Humanities - It will have a written test and group discussion with 70:30 weightage respectively. Selected students will now have to participate in the group discussion (GD) round which will be held for a duration of 15–20-minutes. There will be at least 8 students in one GD.

Each student will be given 4-5 minutes to make opening and closing statements and the remaining 7 to 12 minutes for open discussion. Topics of group discussion include contemporary issues such as climate change, free electricity, odd-even rule for controlling air pollution, public transportation, Digital India, impact of social media, role of technology, artificial intelligence.

High-End 21st Century Skills - Equal weightage will be given to written exam and project work and interview. In the second round, selected students will be given project work, which will have to be completed in 3-5 days. Those who qualify in round 2 will have to attend an in-person interview at the opted campus.
